Our wonderful clients in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood reached out to us to transform the dilapidated and borderline dangerous back yard into a beautiful outdoor space that blended modern functionality with the lush, natural charm of their tree-filled lot. Their existing yard lacked cohesion and usable gathering areas, making it difficult to relax or entertain comfortably.

Working closely with the clients we developed a layout that balances privacy, shade, and open-air living. The project features a large, covered dining deck accented with woven pendant lighting, hanging greenery, and a substantial wood-and-steel structure that feels rooted in the landscape. Adjacent lounge areas with custom seating, gravel walkways, and steel-edged planters provide flexible zones for entertaining or quiet retreat.

Natural materials—ipe-inspired decking, warm wood fencing, woven chairs, and rusted steel accents—were chosen to complement the site’s mature trees and abundant greenery. Layered plantings soften the edges, while integrated lighting extends usability into the evening.

The finished space gives our clients a private oasis in the heart of Austin—perfect for hosting friends, enjoying family time, or simply unwinding under the canopy of Bouldin Creek’s heritage oaks.
