Our wonderful clients Eric and Nickie love spending time outside and hosting guests, but their existing small patio limited their ability to host large gatherings or enjoy during the sweltering summer months. In addition, they had no covered parking or storage and their pup Cash had to always on a leash since it was an open space.
After navigating a challenging permitting process that ultimately required a variance with the City of Austin, Eric and Nickie settled on an incredible design from Dick Clark + Architects and we went to work.
Construction required us to excavate over 9 ft. of limestone to set back the parking structure/patio and required a significant amount of intricate structural steel and concrete. Finishes include custom cabinets, an Ipe privacy screen, flat-bar steel railings with undermount lights and a robust fan/misting system.
The finished product gave Eric, Nickie and Cash a highly functional outdoor oasis to enjoy year-round.
